Baseball “A Week in Review”

Baseball

The Blue Valley North Mustang’s Baseball team had four games this past week, three of them within their League.

On Monday, the Mustangs took on the Raiders of Shawnee Mission South at the District Activity Center. Senior Nick Romey was the starting pitcher and threw a solid four innings. Despite Romey’s performance, the team lost by a score of 5-1.

The following day, the Mustangs traveled to Bishop Miege to take on the Stags. With a great performance by senior Tommy Witter, the team took a 1-0 lead into the last inning. Again despite a great pitching performance, the Mustangs lost after a walk-off hit by a Miege hitter.

The Mustangs got another shot at the Stags on Wednesday in the second game of their season series. Entering the seventh inning, the team was down 1-0; however, the team rallied back to win. Alex Holt scored the winning run and Jacob Boresow had the RBI.

In their last game of the week, the team had a “make-up” game against BVSW. The Mustangs struggled, this being their fourth game in that many days, and the team lost 8-0.

This week, North starts their State Tournament run on Wednesday, in Regionals, against Shawnee Mission Northwest.
