Boys’ Swim and Dive Wins Topeka Invitational

The boys’ Swim and Dive Team won the meet in Topeka

against a field of 15 teams including 6A powerhouses

Lawrence Free State, Shawnee Mission East, and Washburn

Rural. While dealing with some injuries and illness, the team was able

to win, bringing home first place finishes in all three

relays as well as Peter Bentele in Diving, Brian North in 50 Free, and, with

a new school record, Ryan McMonigle in the 100 Backstroke with a 52.25.

Several season best times were also achieved with new 6A state qualifying

swims by Kyle Kopecky in the 200 IM and Jackson Rhodes in the 100

Backstroke.
