Brittany Harding- Biology & Chemistry

What classes will you be teaching this year?

I teach two sections of biology here and three sections of chemistry at Blue Valley   Southwest.

Where did you teach before and what is your background in schooling?

This is my second year of teaching and I started last year at Southwest. I graduated from the University of Central Missouri, and I decided to come home because my dad works here.

What made you decide to come work here?

I have heard a lot of great things about this school and how they work. I was very excited to come here and I didn’t think I would get the opportunity to come here, but it just kind of worked out like that.

What are your first impressions of North?

I haven’t met any students yet, but everyone is really nice and welcoming here.  Even among the students, there is an incredible amount of school pride and willingness to work well.

What are some things you want the students to know about you going into this year?

I really don’t like to be mean and I really do like my job. I really want them to be as excited as I am about these classes.

What are your goals for this year?

I want to continue to be very open with my students and I want them to come to me when they need to talk.  I also want this classroom to be a safe place for these students.

Any fun facts about yourself?

Over the summer, I got a cat. Her name is Katniss and I have fully committed to cat lady mode. I love her so much.
