Girls Golf Team Takes Third at State

On Monday, Oct. 20, the girls golf team took third place at the 6A State Championship at Topeka Country Club. Senior Jean Tyrrell individually won the state title with a one over par 74. She won the championship by three strokes; moreover, the team missed out on second place by four strokes. Senior Cecilia Ryan also played very well for the Mustangs. Ryan shot a ten over par 83 and took 6th place as an individual. Junior Kristin Larson shot 97; Maddie Kroll shot 100; Keely Gaeddert shot 103; Grace Fain shot 107.

Topeka-Washburn Rural won the championship, and Shawnee Mission East claimed second place.
