Blue Valley North’s swim team is known for its long-lasting traditions, both in and outside of the pool. Most people, however, are rarely granted access to the team’s practices, making its most sacred tradition, lane wars, quite secretive. The wars are held among separate lanes, pooling bitter rivalries that spark frequent battles. Each clash includes a sacrifice, meaning that some swimmer, randomly chosen, is seized, held in the air, and thrown into the deep, dark end of the pool.
