On Saturday, Jan. 17th, the North Stars competed against other Kansas schools in the Miss Kansas competition at Olathe South High School. The girls performed eight dances including officers, three small groups, jazz, lyrical, pom and hip-hop. The North Stars won the following awards: sweepstakes, shining star and the judges choreography award for jazz, technique for pom and showmanship and energy for lyrical.

“The team really needs to work on having more facial expression as we dance. Also, we have to keep up energy even when we get tired during a performance”, said Junior Lieutenant Sophie Wagner.

The North Stars will travel to St. Charles this weekend to compete against various Missouri and Kansas drill teams.
