Rebecca Seitter- German

What classes will you be teaching this year?

I will be teaching German 1 and German 2.

Where did you work before this and what is your background?

Before this, I worked at a law firm, translating documents from English to German for a case. Prior to that, I was subbing here in the Blue Valley District, as well as in the Shawnee Mission School District.

What made you decide to take a position here?

My kids are Blue Valley kids and I live in the district. I have been looking for a position in the district since I got my license and this opportunity came up to teach here.  This position opened up and it was ideal.

What is your impression of North so far?

I really like it here. I love the atmosphere and the staff.  I have subbed here in the past, so I have gotten to meet a few students and have had good experiences with them.

What are some things you want your students to know about you when they walk in the door on the first day?

I am very nice, and I really want them to be very comfortable in this class and they can know its a safe environment for them.  That they can come in after and before school for help or whatever they need.  I want them to know that I will be around for them as much as they need me to be.

What are your goals for this year?

I want to be an awesome German teacher and hopefully get everyone loving German. I hope to set up a German club, maybe once or twice a month for after school, or something like that.

Any fun facts?

When I was 18, I lived in Germany for about a year. I have two kids, both at Blue Valley High, and I have been living here for about 14 years.
