Royals Week in Review
Going into the week, the Royals had twenty-six more wins than losses and had a twelve and a half game lead over the Minnesota Twins.

Edinson Volquez was on the mound for this game against the Boston Red Sox. Thanks to a rally in the ninth lead by Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas, the Royals were able to win 8-6
8/24
Royals’ pitcher Kris Medlen made his first start since coming back from his second elbow surgery. Down by one, the Royals went on a two-out rally in the sixth and went on to win 8-3.
8/25
Kendrys Morales gave the Royals an early lead with a solo home run in the second, while Danny Duffy pitched almost 6 full innings as the Royals went on to win 3-2.

Royals’ pitcher, Johnny Cueto started the game off strong, but gave up some runs late. Mike Moustakas hit a late home run, but that wasn’t enough as the Royals lost 8-5

Yordano Ventura pitched six innings and gave up zero runs and just two hits. The team had timely hitting towards the end and went on to beat the Orioles 6-3.

Edinson Volquez took the mound for the Royals in their first against the Rays. Kendrys Morales hit a two run home run, which would be the deciding factor as the Royals went on to win 3-2.

Kris Medlen making his second start of the week and threw almost 6 innings. Mike Moustakas continued his hot streak getting on base three of his five at bats and driving in 3 runs.
The Royals went 6-1 over the course of the week improving their record to 80-49 on the season while expanding their division lead to 14 games.
