Round 9 – vs. Blue Valley 90-50 win

Coach Amanda Riss is excited about the team’s first showing and hopes to see more growth and success to come.

“This was our first tournament of the season so I think everyone was really happy with the results. We were disappointed we didn’t make it to the finals. We tied for second in our division with Lawrence and Olathe South, but since they beat us we weren’t able to continue on to the finals. The boys were very excited about beating Blue Valley High and that was definitely the highlight of the tournament,” Riss said. “We have another tournament on Jan. 8 at Olathe South. Our hope for the rest of the season is to do well enough at Regionals in February to go on to to State. Long term, I’d like to see the program grow and have multiple teams competing at different tournaments throughout the area.”
