2024 was not a great year in any entertainment besides music. Sure, there were some good movies like “Deadpool and Wolverine” but nothing huge happened. 2025 on the other hand is already looking great or at least interesting Taylor Swift took out Reputation and her debut album from Spotify. This possibly suggests that new Taylor versions of the albums will be released. Also, new seasons of series like “The Summer I Turned Pretty” are coming out while new albums such as Hurry Up Tomorrow by the Weeknd are getting released this year. Here is my most anticipated movie, series, book and album to be released in 2025.
How to Train Your Dragon -Movie
Many anticipated movies such as “Thunderbolts” are coming out in 2025, but there’s one movie I’m extremely excited about. And that’s “How to Train Your Dragon” the live action. It will be coming out this summer on June 13th. This movie is not only a childhood staple but one of the best family movies ever. After watching the trailer I have high expectations. The dragons, specifically Toothless, look realistic and the actors are a perfect match. Hiccup’s dad is the same voice actor who played him in the animation. If someone from the original cast is in the live-action remake I think that shows that they believe that the movie is just as good as the original. There’s been some controversy over the other actors but I believe a good movie is a good movie.
Wednesday -TV Series
The popular Netflix series “Wednesday” is coming back this year for another season. There is no release date yet but it should be coming out around the fall. Some people are concerned if this season will be any good because actor Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier, will not be returning back for this season. Considering he played a big role, I wonder what they would say in the show to make it realistic why the character left. However, I’m not worried about being disappointed because I know Jenna Ortega will not disappoint not to mention Tim Burton will be back as director. He is a genius when it comes to shows and movies like “Wednesday.” Overall, I’m excited to see what the new season of “Wednesday” has in store and if it will live up to the hype of the first season.
Sunrise on the Reaping -Book
As a fan of both the book and the movies of the “Hunger Games” franchise, I am excited about this new book’s release on March 18th. “Sunrise on the Reaping” will be a prequel like “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” This time, it will follow fan favorite Haymitch on the 50th Hunger Games. This is set 24 years before the first novel in the series. I am confused about what new information will be given to us considering if you’ve seen or read the books you’ll already know how Haymitch won. That being said I am still very excited for this book release. This book is also being made into a movie coming out on November 20th, 2026.
The Right Person Will Stay -Lana Del Rey album
Lana Del Rey never disappoints so I have high expectations for this upcoming album which will release on May 21, 2025, just in time for finals. I need music to survive school and Lana will always be in my playlists. Her type of music could usually be described as indie pop but apparently this new album will be country. The change of genre is exciting but terrifies me because the country is not my thing. If you haven’t listened to Lana, now is your chance to do so before the new album releases. I would definitely recommend listening to her 2019 Album!
