Madi Garrelts, Editor-In-Chief
Madi Garrelts is a senior and one of the editors in chief of “The North Star.” This is her third year on staff. She has covered student life and development in KC and is interested in events happening in KC and literature. Outside of the newsroom, she’s a part of the tennis team and loves to read. She is excited to take on a larger role in the newsroom and put exciting issues.
Lilly Copeland, Copy Editor
Lilly Copeland is a senior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered topics regarding religion, student life, and travel. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys being part of the Student Council, Sources of Strength, and NHS. She is excited to take photos of athletic events and edit staff member stories.
Van Freeman, Staff Writer
Van is a sophomore and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is his 1st year on staff. He is interested in writing about school events and issues. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys (or is a part of) theater and writing. He is excited to photograph and cover the many school events this year.
Hannah Markiewicz, Social Media Editor
Hannah Markiewicz is a junior and social media editor and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is her 2nd year on staff. She has covered district finances, student’s travel and more. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys volunteering with animals, going on walks and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to have a new role as one of the social media editors this school year.
