Moving on to the Elite Eight! With some upsets and other slide-by victories in the first round… we have some great matchups on our hands and this round of the bracket is looking fun.
Football vs Cheer:
As an ironic matchup between these two, seeing it as cheer is the biggest supporting sport of football, this could be an interesting one. As said previously, football is the most attended sport and nothing beats “FNL” (Friday Night Lights). However, what makes FNL so special? Loud music, concessions, student sections… but also the cheer aspect! A tight game between these two however, football is going to move on. I don’t think cheer would be as significant of a sport if it wasn’t for football.
Basketball vs Swimming:
Basketball and swimming. Both sports have skilled teams who are consistently winning and both sports won the last round by a landslide which is why this is a tough one. Swimming has consistently won at the highest level, but basketball has a better turnout for student sections. All in all, both sports are very talented, very supported and very fun to watch. Swimming is going to upset basketball in the elite eight and move on! Swimming is the more dominant sport, disregarding the amount of people that come to watch.
Baseball vs Track:
Spring Sports matchup! Super wow. Both sports have many talented athletes and both are competitive in their own house of attributes. While baseball has a huge incline in people coming to support, track has had the same. The undeniable detail however, is baseball made a state run last year and is looking good again. Baseball moves on in less of a difficult matchup.
Volleyball vs Soccer:
Another tight matchup to wrap up this playoff round… Volleyball has athletes on their team that are nationally known. Soccer has an athlete who is nationally recognized. Both have incredibly talented players and this is a difficult one to choose from. Volleyball is going to move on to the Final Four as a wrap-up to the Elite Eight.
