Alex Robertson is a senior and photo editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered sports, student life and the royal family. Outside of the newsroom, she is involved in Sources of Strength, Swim and enjoys photography. She is excited to photograph sports and events as well as bring North stories to life.
Cash Durbin, Social Media Editor
Cash is a senior and social media editor and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is his second year on staff. He has covered sports and student life. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys soccer, video games, and spending time with friends. He is excited to photograph different sports at North and manage social media.
Stella Ain, Copy Editor
Stella Ain is a senior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered social media, feature stories and arts topics and is interested in entertainment, culture and arts and leisure. Outside of the newsroom, she is a part of The Northern Light yearbook staff, StuCo and Gold Out KC. She enjoys reading, listening to Taylor Swift too much and watching rom-coms. She is super excited to be on staff and hopes to continue writing entertaining and thought-provoking stories.

Alegria Aguilera is a senior and an editor-in-chief of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered student life and current events and is interested in politics and mental health. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing guitar, writing music and fiber arts. She is excited to gain new editing skills and work to provide high quality stories to BVN students.
Sydney Kort, Staff Writer
Sydney Kort is a sophomore and staff writer for “The North Star.” This is her first year on staff. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys baking and hanging out with friends. She is excited to work with new people inside and outside the newsroom.
Hannah Markiewicz, Social Media Editor
Hannah Markiewicz is a junior and social media editor and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is her 2nd year on staff. She has covered district finances, student’s travel and more. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys volunteering with animals, going on walks and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to have a new role as one of the social media editors this school year.

Clara Resende is a senior and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is their first year on staff. They have covered student life and entertainment news. Outside of the newsroom, they enjoy watching movies and writing about them. They are excited to become a more experienced writer and get to know everyone!
Lilly Copeland, Copy Editor
Lilly Copeland is a senior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered topics regarding religion, student life, and travel. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys being part of the Student Council, Sources of Strength, and NHS. She is excited to take photos of athletic events and edit staff member stories.

Lexi Newsom is a senior and co-editor-in-chief of “The North Star.” This is her third year on staff. She has covered student life and is interested in investigative and environmental journalism. Outside of the newsroom, she loves figure skating, creative writing and watching far too many movies. She is excited to improve as an editor and continue sharing stories with the BVN community.

Sejin Hahn is a senior and a web editor of “The North Star.” This is their third year on staff. He has covered editorials and hard news. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys playing the guitar, getting ice cream and running for Cross Country. Sejin is excited to build connections with new staff writers as well as improve on editing and writing skills.

Ruby Bierman is a senior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her third year on staff. She has covered student life and current events and is interested in politics and entertainment. Outside of the newsroom, she is a part of tennis and BBYO. She enjoys going to concerts and reading. She is excited to be on staff and hopes to keep sharing stories with BVN students.

Madi Garrelts is a senior and one of the editors in chief of “The North Star.” This is her third year on staff. She has covered student life and development in KC and is interested in events happening in KC and literature. Outside of the newsroom, she’s a part of the tennis team and loves to read. She is excited to take on a larger role in the newsroom and put exciting issues.

Paul Struby is a junior and web editor of “The North Star.” This is his second year on staff. He has covered things like the Copa America and enrollment numbers. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys soccer, being outdoors, and watching sports. He is excited to become a better editor and writer.

Josie is a junior and is a web editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered sports, student life, and spotlight stories. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing the flute,and softball. She is excited to get to continue writing and sharing stories with her friends and sharing them with the BVN community.

Addison is a senior and editor-in-chief of “The North Star.” This is her 3rd year on staff. She has covered sports, academics and holiday controversies. Outside of the newsroom, she is a part of the American Saddlebred Horse Association and enjoys reading and going to concerts. She is excited to photograph events and put out intriguing issues for this school year!
