Josie Jones is a sophomore and a staff writer of “The North Star.” This is her first year on staff. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing softball and the flute. She is excited to write and share stories with BVN.
Stella Ain, Copy Editor
Stella Ain is a senior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered social media, feature stories and arts topics and is interested in entertainment, culture and arts and leisure. Outside of the newsroom, she is a part of The Northern Light yearbook staff, StuCo and Gold Out KC. She enjoys reading, listening to Taylor Swift too much and watching rom-coms. She is super excited to be on staff and hopes to continue writing entertaining and thought-provoking stories.
Alex Robertson, Photo Editor
Alex Robertson is a senior and photo editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered sports, student life and the royal family. Outside of the newsroom, she is involved in Sources of Strength, Swim and enjoys photography. She is excited to photograph sports and events as well as bring North stories to life.
Cash Durbin, Staff Writer
Cash Durbin is a junior and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is his first year on staff. He is looking to cover sports and student life. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoy soccer, tennis and coaching. His is excited to take photos and research extracurriculars around the school.
Sejin Hahn, Web Editor
Sejin Hahn is a senior and a web editor of “The North Star.” This is their third year on staff. He has covered editorials and hard news. Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys playing the guitar, getting ice cream and running for Cross Country. Sejin is excited to build connections with new staff writers as well as improve on editing and writing skills.
Madi Garrelts, Copy Editor
Madi is a junior and a copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered student life and development in KC and is interested in events happening in KC and literature. Outside of the newsroom, she is a part of the tennis team and has played the viola for seven years. She is excited to become closer with everyone in the newsroom and can’t wait to write more on the current events happening within BVN.

Alegria Aguilera is a senior and an editor-in-chief of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered student life and current events and is interested in politics and mental health. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing guitar, writing music and fiber arts. She is excited to gain new editing skills and work to provide high quality stories to BVN students.
Anjali Kambhampati, Copy Editor
Anjali Kambhampati is a junior and copy editor of “The North Star.” This is her second year on staff. She has covered student life and entertainment and is interested in different topics in entertainment. Outside of the newsroom, she is the president of Hope Club and is involved in Track and Field. She is excited to continue writing stories throughout the year.

Lexi Newsom is a senior and co-editor-in-chief of “The North Star.” This is her third year on staff. She has covered student life and is interested in investigative and environmental journalism. Outside of the newsroom, she loves figure skating, creative writing and watching far too many movies. She is excited to improve as an editor and continue sharing stories with the BVN community.

Lilly Copeland is a junior and staff writer of “The North Star.” This is her first year on staff. She has covered student life and is interested in current events. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys StuCo, track and playing tennis. She is excited to cover new topics and bring light to issues within BVN.

Emmett Abar is a senior and design editor of “The North Star.” This is their 3rd year on staff. They have covered both hard news and student life. Outside of the newsroom, they play lacrosse, enjoy listening to music and hanging out with friends. They are excited to have a great last year on staff and write some interesting stories.
